I recently stayed in the Galmont Hotel, a stunning resort located in Galway City Centre, previously known as The Radisson. Although from Galway, my stay in The Galmont was unique, as it is within walking distance into Galway city centre and located beside all necessary amenities.
This hotel is located in the heart of Galway, just 2 minutes away from Galway Bus station and Galway Train station, meaning tourists will have little walking distance from A to B. The hotel is also located just 5 minutes away from the city centre and Eyre Square. If you’re travelling for a hen, stag or party weekend, you needn’t worry about travelling via taxi, as everything you possibly need is within walking distance. Centra and Mace supermarkets are also within a 3 minute walking distance alongside dunnes which is located in a nearby shopping centre. I often find it difficult to find a beautiful hotel central to everything, but this beauty definitely has it all!
In regards to the hotel itself, I bloody loved it. I’ve been to the Galmont plenty of times for functions and events, but I’d never officially stayed. This gave me a different perception, leaving me feeling as though I was truly away from Galway. I was lucky to get my hands on a Business Class suite, which is a little bigger than a basic room, with views of the lake, with inclusive amenities such as an espresso machine, late check out, cosy robes and a giant bed (which I can safely say would fit four to five people). Check in was at 3pm, although can be earlier at an expense. I had no trouble getting to my room and staff were extremely accommodating. I was astonished at the beautiful room, and the television service gave me a clear indication about extra services available to me. (Spa & spa treatments, breakfast in bed etc).
There is a spa available in this hotel, which gives you the vast option of various treatments, alongside a beautiful open space outdoors with piping hot jacuzzi’s which are available to those staying, and those from Galway who may be looking for a little getaway. I thoroughly enjoyed the food here as well. Breakfast (which is €17 a piece), can be both delivered to you in bed, or downstairs in their main breakfast suite. The buffet is endless, and I’d recommend going downstairs to get your hands on as much food as you’d possibly like! From Irish fries to exotic fruits and pastries, their buffet is certainly filling, and will keep you at bay for the afternoon!
I truly recommend this spot if you’re looking to get away from the world. Whether or not you’re from Galway or travelling down for a few nights, I can promise you that you’ll return home with a fresh mind and feel totally and utterly relaxed. I enjoyed every second of my stay here and urge everyone to stick this on your list of places to treat yourself to! ❤️
